speaking engagements & events

More and more I am being asked to attend events as a technology expert or guest speaker. In the last few months this has included a few held at the Sheffield Universities.

The following is a list of events and talks I will be attending and giving.

April 2012:

17th The Workstation 9am – 7pm.

Softly Wired Limited is running a one day workshop on “Titanium Best Practices and Application Architecture”. I will be presenting the course and running the hands on workshop sessions.

March 2012:

21st Smeg 6.30pm till 8pm.

I will be talking at the Sheffield Mobile Experience Group, which is meeting at the Gist Lab. The talk will be on Appcelerator Titanium Best Practices”.

December:

13th Cantor (Furnival) Building Sheffield 10 – 12am.


I will be attending an event for final year Software Engineering  & Software Development students. At this event I will be giving a short talk on what it is like to go contractor in the Software Industry. This will cover a lot of the pros and cons involved in contracting against full time employment and how you have to promote yourself to get on.

 

January:

18th  SMUG

The newly organised Sheffield Mobile User Group will be having their first meeting at the Gist Lab, where I will be giving a talk on Mobile Development. The current working title is The Pitfalls of Mobile.

 

November:

appcelerator29th & 30th Apps World London.
I have been asked by appcelerator to attend this event as a community Titan and assist them in providing information about the titanium framework.
